All eyes on Wentworth

What an amazing weekend of sport we have ahead of us: the first cricket test of the summer takes place at Lord’s as England host Pakistan; Liverpool face serial winners Real Madrid in the Champions League final, and tennis’ clay court season comes to its climax as the French Open gets underway at Roland Garros.

But, more importantly, the European Tour returns to our shores as Wentworth hosts the BMW PGA Championship. Last year’s victor, Alex Noren, will be looking to carry on his stellar form and make it back-to-back victories in this event but faces stiff competition from other Ryder Cup stars and past winners like Rory McIlroy and Paul Casey.

This week in the pro shop we have received a delivery of the brand new Spieth 2 shoe from Under Armour. As the name suggests, three-time Major winner Jordan Spieth has been influential in the Spieth 2's design. From its new, lighter upper to Under Armour's Rotational Resistance spikes, this shoe has been created for tour-level performance.

One way to hit the ball further is to swing faster, but more often than not this will harm your accuracy and your quality of strike. An alternative option is to get custom fitted for one of the brilliant drivers we have in-store, where you can swing exactly the same each time and let the correct set-up do all the hard work to gain you yards.

If you’ve been put off investing in a new driver because you’re worried that your swing needs some work, you’re needlessly missing out on lots of immediate benefits. In reality you needn’t worry about this problem, as modern drivers are very adjustable and allow us to re-optimise them to suit your new swing as regularly as necessary.

TaylorMade's M3 driver offers us the tools to do this thanks to its adjustable hosel and two sliding sole weights, which lets us fine-tune your spin and shot shape. While the TaylorMade M4 driver doesn’t have sole weights, it does share the same Hammerhead slot that allows the face to spring powerfully for effortless long distance.
